Most impressive is the range of Advantages that bio-gas plants provide beyond just the primary benefit of gas are following:

  1.   Excrement from animals and humans is turned from waste to benefit.
  2. The waste collected from one cow or buffalo provides enough gas for regular cooking needs.

Make your own Methane Biodigester

Make your own Methane Biodigester  

 Material Required:

1.       40, 50 gallon Plastic drum
2.       Plastic tube
3.       Shutoff valves
4.       Sealer
5.       4” dia PVC Pipe
 you will need one forty and one fifty gallon drum
a tightly seal able fifty gallon container plastic tubing shutoff valves and sealer 4 or 5 inch diameter PVC  pipe

Cut 2 holes into the seal-able drums lid one is the size of the PVC pipe and one the size of the plastic tubing place them at opposite ends of the lid cut out the bottom of the PVC pipe so the only have two remains

Sealed the container and place the PVC pipe into at hole. This’ll be where you insert  the digester feed stock.
 Remove anything around rim of small fifty-gallon drum
This tank holds the gas
Capturing it between its roof in water
Cut two holes into the bottom of the forty gallon drums same as rubber tube
One whole will connect the seals great container
cut the tubing into 2 section 1 will connect the sealed container with the other drum.
And the 1 will let gas out.
Insert the shorter piece of tube in to the upside-down drum

Attach the valve to gas release hose so the gas will escape. Then seal all connection
Each tube or pipe needs to be air tight.
Wait for these connections to dry. Fill the unused fifty-gallon drum water about two-thirds
Place the gas container upside down into the water and now digester has complete
Feedstock goes into the white pipe which produces methane gas (biogas) trapped in blue container

BBC Report: A worker died after being overcome by fumes while trying to fix an anaerobic bio-digester on a Dorset farm
29 year old Matthew Pitt, was working on the huge tank full of slurry and farming waste at Lowbrook Farm in Belchalwell in June 2009 when it happened.
He and fellow worker David Bartlett passed out after opening the seal on the bio-digester  roof to fix a blockage.
Mr Bartlett came to and ran for help. Mr Pitt never regained consciousness.
He was given CPR and an air ambulance took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
'Fit and strong'
Mr Pitt was described as "fit and strong" and it was a clear summer morning on 24 June when the accident happened.
Owner Owen Yeatman, who had 420 cattle and 1,200 acres of arable land at the time, had had the German-made biodigester installed the year before.
It works by burning methane gas from rotting manure, crops or slurry to produce electricity.
But it also produces hydrogen sulphide, which smells like rotten eggs and is very poisonous.
The workers were trying to loosen up a crust that was preventing the biodigester from working properly.
Mr Pitt is thought to have breathed in the gas even though he was probably wearing a gas mask, the hearing heard.
A German engineer from the firm Biogas Nord, which built the biodigester, told the hearing it was very unusual for untrained workers to take on such dangerous tasks.
Kurt Groenke said in Germany, the work would be carried out by "qualified service personnel, not tractor drivers".
Mr Pitt, from Sturminster Newton, had become a father eight months before he died.
A joint investigation by police and the Health and Safety Executive at the time found there was "insufficient evidence to support a prosecution for manslaughter or corporate manslaughter".
The inquest continues.

 I always searching new techniques to produce biogas from animal and kitchen organic waste at house level in urban area, mostly biogas digester in the world are floating dome and fixed dome type biogas digester, these plant need large space and large quantity of organic waste. It can not build in urban area, I found on internet some portable biogas plant like ARTI biogas  plant and GREENTECH biogas plant these plant work fine, I inspired by ARTI biogas plant design so decide to make my on digester similar as ARTI plant.

ARTI Biogas plant is very simple and useful biogas plant can be made by plastic, steel tank, and bricks ARTI biogas plant consist on two part 1st is digester tank 2nd is Gas older tank, Digester tank also called fermenter where fermentation of manure takes place and biogas produces. Digester tank is made by 1000 liter water tank and gas holder made by 750 liter plastic water tank. PVC pipe also use as inlet and outlet.

When I  was arranging material of digester I thought alternative of gas holder tank because it cost and extra working for cutting etc, so I decide alternate of gas tank to Old or used Tyre tube of tractor or large tube of Tyre. In this storage system I got two benefits, first I saved 3000 Rp and 2nd gas can be transfer.

 Components of the Bio-gas Plant.

The main components of the biogas Digester are a digester tank (Water Tank), an inlet (PVC Pipe) for feeding the kitchen waste, gas storage tank (Tyre Tube), an outlet for the digested slurry and the gas Pipe.

Material List Of Biogas Plant.

  1. 700 liter water Tank ( used as Digester Tank)
  2. 3 Inch Diameter and 3 fit in length PVC pipe (to be used as inlet pipe)
  3. 3 Inch Diameter and 2 fit in length PVC pipe (to be used as out let pipe)

  5. Iron nipple

  8. Plastic pipe 5 ft (to be used for delivery of gas)
  9. Gas Valve
  10. Supper glue (to be used for fixing of pipe)

 A hack saw blade for cutting the pipes and a soldering iron cutting holes on the tank

I take PVC pipe and put on side of tank and make circle with the help of pencil it should be equal to PVC pipe diameter.

Feeding Of Digester Tank

Initially, cow-dung mixed (with the ration of 50 % water and 50 % dung )will be fed in to the system, which anaerobically bacteria will start the gas formation . After a week gas tube filled with biogas, but this gas not burnable because of the quantity of methane gas has very low and other gases like carbon dioxide nitrogen and sulphide gas. afterward, you can use food waste, decomposable organic material and kitchen waste it should be diluted with water.

The government will support farmers to choose for cheap alternative energy bear 50% of the conversion cost which will be in the range of Rs200,000 to Rs400,000 for a tube well based on technology and capacity.
A successful end of the drive would help save Rs30 billion on diesel consumption annually and help farmers irrigate their land at a low cost, a government official said. This would be the first project of its kind in the agriculture sector and would have a salutary effect on the environment in rural areas, he said.
Punjab Agriculture Secretary Dr Ijaz Munir, while confirming the plan, said his department would give a presentation to the chief minister soon for his approval. Work on the project would start next year, he added.
Munir said the project was being undertaken after a comprehensive study to save energy and utilise animal waste for productive purposes. The government would ensure transparency in the process and facilitate farmers in adopting biogas technology, he said.
Two types of technology including Frothy Drum and Fixed Dome can be used to switch over from diesel-powered tube wells to biogas. The provincial government will invite expressions of interest from interested companies, leave it to the farmers to select the company and pay directly to the technology provider.
According to documents, there are 32 million cows and buffaloes owned by small and big farmers in the province. These animals are producing 117 million tons of dung annually. If half of the total is used to produce gas, then the waste will produce 2.93 billion cubic metres of gas annually.
According to estimates, 25 to 40 cubic metres of gas is required to run a tube well. In both the technologies, 80% of energy will come from biogas and 20% from diesel.
A tube well eats up 2.25 litres of diesel per hour, but after reliance on biogas, diesel consumption will come down to 0.45 litre per hour. “This way, 288 million litres of diesel is expected to be saved every year,” the official said.
In monetary terms, savings are estimated at Rs30 billion per annum if 100,000 tube wells are switched over to biogas in the next five years.
According to agriculture census, farmers operate 1.1 million tube wells across the province for watering their crops. Of these, 110,000 are powered by electricity and 900,000 are run on diesel.
The Punjab government has earmarked Rs7 billion in the annual budget for doling out subsidy in several areas including tube wells, an official of the Finance Department said.
The Agriculture Department hopes that biogas plants installed with tube wells will help produce organic manure rich in nutrients, which will save the money spent on fertilizers.
